Rocky Mountaineer - Day 2
A swift walk around the block in Kamloops confirmed that there wasn’t much to do (especially on the Sunday night of Canadian Thanksgiving weekend), so an early night was had to set us up for yet another early morning start.The scenery changes on the second day. We’re moving down out of the mountains, the river is widening, and there are more farms and towns. The weather also turns in the middle of the day, so the last afternoon is quite rainy with low clouds. Not great photo weather.
Because of the weather the last hour or so is a little disappointing, but overall it’s a fantastic trip which we’d highly recommend. The only thing I might do differently, would be to travel eastbound rather than westbound. It may have just been down to the weather, but arriving in Vancouver felt like a bit of an anti-climax. Heading into the mountains and ending up surrounded by them in Jasper might be a better end to the journey.
